Attachment: 1.jpeg [ 223.42 KiB | Viewed 2450 times ] I've owned mine since October 2018 but it's taken me a while to get round to joining (not for lack of reminders from Sanjay, a friend and fellow member!). Mine's a 2011 911 C2S; long story, but I originally started saving (11 years ago almost!) for a 987.2 Boxster S. Once I had enough money I couldn't find one - and Sanjay (over a few beers) convinced me that what I really needed in my life was a 911. So I kept saving. Initially I was searching for a 996 C4S, and narrowly missed out on a couple of good ones at RPM Technik. The savings pot grew, and that 996 C4S turned into looking for a 997.2 3.6 - and then a speculative email to RPM turned into buying a 997.2 3.8. And the rest is history. It's a manual (priority one) with Sport Chrono (priority 2) and Bose (priority 3). Everything else - Sports Exhaust, body-coloured centre tunnel and backs of heated Sports Seats, 5mm rear spacers, Turbo alloys - was a bonus really. As I say, I've owned it over 3 years but am covering only around 3,000 a year in it, including a highly memorable Scottish road trip with Sanjay and some other friends in between lockdowns in 2020. That was a real eye-opener - a week of chasing a particularly good wheelman around Scotland in his 964 C4 felt like 5 years of driving experience highly condensed, I learned a lot from that. Anyway, just wanted to say hello - and here are a few pics (credit to Sanjay for the group shots!) Cheers Blair

With the centre tunnel and seat-backs it was a bit much at first and I almost didn't bother going to see the car; in the end there were so few manuals around at the time that were coming through reputable channels that I went for it. Glad I did; it was reassuring that RPM were prepared to put their name to it, and my local specialist told me it's a good 'un so I was a lot happier after hearing that. |
