Hello All

So I am a Porsche virgin, with a recently purchased 1989 944 S2 in the garage. Currently up to my armpits in muck and oil, on a recommissioning process, Belts, water pump, oil seals, hose, engine mounts etc. But parts are available, and lots of useful sites on the net for information. Also found that the steering rack as blown its sealing, reman one on the way from WPS, not planned but explains the heavy steering.

Only thing I am struggling to obtain is a flywheel locking too, every one appears to be out of stock, any suggestions?

Welcome on board and congrats on the purchase.

Have you tried your local Porsche Centre, their prices are often not as outrageous as you might imagine 8)

Thanks for the responses. I have now purchased a tool from my OPC, and also found that some other part prices are reasonable.
The list of while I am there has got longer, but basically doing all the engine seals I can while I have access, along with engine mounts, steering rack, belts, water pump, hoses.......

Will post elsewhere if I get stuck.

Don't forget the cam chain & tensioner pads on an S2 as well. Plenty of tears been shed if it breaks!
