You may (or may not!) be interested in this little story:
A few weeks ago I was waiting for a haircut in my local barbers, idly flicking through magazines, as you do. Being a petrolhead, my Barber had a selection of 2018 Classic Car Mart publications. In the Spring edition, I read the article of Porsche 924/944s as future classics/projects. I owned a 1988 944S which I purchased in 1994 and sold in 2000 as kids/dogs etc got in the way.

I loved that car and, as I was toying with the idea of owning a classic car, the article reignited my thoughts on 944 ownership again. On getting home I carried out a quick search on Autotrader and found 25 for sale Nationwide.

I hope you can imagine the shock and surprise i experienced when the 3rd car listed was my old 944!!! As a consequence, I am now the proud owner of F86 OUD for the second time. What are the chances?

Hope to see you at a future meet.
(Would post pics, but no idea of how to do it).

Welcome back.

Didn’t learn your lesson the first time obviously.

Is the car better, or worse for not having been in your ownership for so long?

Worse unfortunately. has been stood for 10 years. Water into the interior causing a musty smell. Currently in for Belts and Rollers, Steering pump rebuild, replace cracked hoses, new brake pipes etc! I can see this being a labour of love!

So you have it bad.

It’s a cool car and a cool story. Try not to worry about the money you used to have in the bank as the restoration progresses.
