Hi, I thought I'd come over to TIPEC as there seems to be much more activity here.

I'm a longtime Porsche owner, starting with a dark blue 1964 356C in the days when you didn't need a mortgage to buy one. Money and time constaints meant I sold it for peanuts complete with a spare Porsche engine :(
It has now had a colour change and sits in the Haynes Motor Museum!

Next was my current car, a Malaga Red 1979 924 2.0l, which I've owned for fifteen years. In that time I've done most of the usual jobs - it has what the trade calls 'character' but it does get driven all year round.

Lastly I had a gold 1987 944 2.5l for about three years. It was probably the best handling car of the three but was a whole lot more expensive to run than the 924 even though I do most of the work. Also a lot more complicated. This was sold to someone in Shropshire who'd just had his 944 written off by a Skoda driver!

Happy New Year

Welcome Vince :)

That hindsight is a wonderful thing but it's always nice living in the moment - I'm sure the 924 keeps you suitably entertained :D

Well at least the 356 didn't get scrapped by the next owner after me!

The 924 has just had a clutch change as it was getting very heavy - turns out it was the original clutch (from the date code) which had done 161,000 miles in 37 years!

That's some going for a clutch.... at least the new one has something to live up to :)

Enjoy the driving :D
