Post subject:  Just bought my 1st Porsche 924s

Hi all, I've finally done it and bought my first Porsche. I was a Porsche apprentice in the mid 80's until late 90 and always promised myself one.
Needs work, belts, pulleys, water pump, good clean, service and a little paint, front seats recovered, fuel pump, oil leak fixing (think its the cam carrier)....... and anything else I find in the meantime.
Im up near Blackpool in the week working and North Wales at weekends. Looking forward to getting it MOT'd and out in the hills in the spring!
Can anyone recommend anywhere for service bits and belts?

Cheers, H

Congratulations H, the 924s is a great car and it sounds like you know your way around them. The 924 944 968 guys on here are very active so I'm sure it won't be long before someone can point you in the right direction for what your after.
Great roads in your part of the world, you're going to have fun!

Stuart

Welcome Milly!

If you pass by Warrington on your travels then Jon at Unit Eleven is worth ringing if you need someone to do it for you but Max at Frazerpart will have all the service kits and belts in that you'll need. If you ring him, he'll help you choose what you need.

Good luck with getting sorted - looking forward to seeing you at the Cheshire & Staffs members meeting soon where we have plenty of transaxles in the fold. We meet on the third Tuesday of the month near Knutsford - the next one is on the 17th of October at The Whipping Stocks Pub at 8:00pm.

There's plenty of knowledge on here as well - anything you need for the car - just ask :D

Looking the car over and i've noticed that its got M030 option.
They have adjustable spring perches, spring heights. I've checked the 924s parts catalogue and it shows no adjustable spring height struts, Pt No. 944 343 051 00 and 944 343 052 00 Koni .
I worked on one of these 30 years ago but my memory has failed me on this occasion!!

Are these original struts or later fitted Turbo SE struts? The car is a 924S Lemons.

They are also very rusty, i've have searched on here and see they are only specialist rebuildable.

The m030 could be from a pre 1987 944 as it would be a direct fit.

I've got the sports 911 seats fitted and will get them recovered latter in the year.
Just aiming to get her on the road for the summer.
Can anyone recommend some seat covers for now? I believe the seats are known as "tomb stone" the cars a 924s Lemans.

Thanks in advance,
