Hi everyone, Harry here, a new boy to the club,
I have owned my 944 S2 Cabriolet for 11 years and for the last 6 years she has been sitting in the garage waiting for me to change the cam belts and balance belts etc. I fire her up once every couple of months and she purrs like a kitten. She has about 50 thousand on the clock and under the dust is in excellent condition. So I think its about time I changed the cam belts etc. So I guess I am looking for a decent parts supplier, and is it possible to get a cam belt 'kit'. Can anyone recommend a decent parts supplier.

Thanks
Harry

Hi and Welcome Harry - 50k on a Cab - nice! As regards getting a belt kit, I would presume that other items might be needed? For instance, new rollers and tensioners, water pump and a decent tune-up kit (ie new plugs, HT leads, rotor and cap etc), to get the engine set up decent, after such a time standing, even if you have started it up from time to time and not put any stress into those components. The plugs you can get at your local motor factor, the belts and auxiliary items best from your local OPC Dealer. Just don't buy cheap stuff...

Great car the Cabriolet.

Price up the service kit from the local Porsche Centre and compare against Fraserpart. You might find the ABS pump has issues, they can corrode if laid up for a long time.

Let us know when she is back on the road.
