Post subject:  Hi Folks! New member looking for advice for his first 911...

I'm looking for my first Porsche, the 911 has been my dream car and now I find myself in the fortunate position to be able to get one. I've tried to do a fair bit of research and I'm looking for either a Gen 1 997 or maybe a Gen 2 996. I've viewed and driven a few 997 and going through the process of working out what I want.

After going to a number of prestige car garages I'm thinking the Porsche Specialist route is better for me as the seem to know there cars inside and out and offer the type of warranty I'm looking for. I've visited 911Virgin and really liked there approach not really trying to sale but offering me loads of advice.

Are there any specialists you folks would recommend from your experience??

I live in the south of England but I'm happy to travel to find the right one.

Also what do you think may happen to the prices of either 996 and 997 in the coming months?

Thanks for your help.

Jamie

Hi

I would try RSJ in Slough, Williams Crawford Plymouth, Dove House Cars Northants. Like 911Virgin we know them and you will be looked after.

As for values, hard to predict the future. 996 have firmed up over the last 6 months, 997's will continue to slide until they get close to top 996 money. 4S and Cabs usually command a premium, sports exhaust is a must option.
