Hi my name is Gary im 37 and have an ambition of owning a 1971 Targa before my 40th birthday.

I sold my pride and joy ( a 1966 Karman Ghia) back in January to make way for the 911, but with what is happening in the world at the moment i have been waiting to see what happens with the prices.

Looking forward to hearing from you all

Gary

HI Gary & welcome  Umm Henry Firman may have an issue as I think he's trade marked 911 Virgin!

Strange about Karmann Ghias one of my members is I think Chairman of the club, so obviously a common attraction! They have Pork as well, in fact a 928

There are some amazing buys out there at the moment, but also as a pre 1975 911 you ahve lots of hidden nasties to look out for on your search. I guess you have to make the decision of goiong after a wreck for doing up or looking for someothing already done.....

Whats your budget?

Probably after Christmas when the crunch really bites. It's a buyers market for sure. Take your time & you will get your dream 911 for sure. :)

You can get something really nice for £20k. Do you want something in mint condition or do you plan to restore something yourself.

The 993 is the best 911 after the early cars IMHO......If I didnt have an early car I would be tempted by a 933.

I know what you mean about the time it takes. I have spent years restoring and modifying mine.

I drive a 1974 911 coupe. But its no longer a 2.7 as I built a 3.5ltre engine for it.

You can see my car on my website here http://www.myporsche911.co.uk

I know a guy who has a 3.0 targa in white that is totally immaculate.....he wants to sell it.

I would be looking at the DDK site - huge amount of highly knowledgeable people there, as well as lots of classifieds.
