Hi guys and girls!

New to the forum but I have had my 944 for 20 years.

She is a 1989 S2 cabriolet, Guards Red with black leather and standard apart from cup turbo twist alloy wheels and stainless steel exhaust.

Been a superb car, lots of great memories but for the last few years she has not been used very much, in fact probably less than 100 miles and this year was relegated to out side when our garages became full. This has quickly taken it toll, got rust now coming through in the usual places so being a sentimental sod I have decided to give her a new lease of life and restore her and USE her!

Just in the process of hunting down some genuine (preferred) or replacement sills so the bodywork can be stripped, repaired and a complete respray including all shut lines carried out.

Mechanically I intend to replace all suspension, bushes, chains, belts, hoses etc, along with service consumables, plugs, leads, discs, pads, caliper rebuild etc - basically a mini restoration. Possibly a bit of overkill but prefer do it all in one hit while she is apart.

No doubt I will end up spending much more than I am planning but that's the joy of collecting classic cars!

I'm planning on keeping a photo graphic journal of all the work so will keep you updated.

More involved with Jags than Porches so no doubt I will be picking all your brains for info and the best parts sources!

Thanks

Mike

If you have had 20 years of rust free motoring i'd say you have done well and the old girl deserves a little bit of tlc.

Keep us updated with your restoration
