finally took the plunge and bought my first porsche...

its a white 944 S2 1990 and I pick it up this weekend from a nice chap in York - can't wait!

got a pretty good quote from Norwich Union to insure it : £353 fully comp, 5k limit for me and my wife (I have 3 sp30's and she has only had her license for 18 months) so pretty pleased.

I've been lurking on this forum for a couple of weeks now, and appreciate all the informative posts which helped me in my decision. Looking forward to being part of the community.

pics to come once I've picked it up!

Andy

Hi Andy

Another S2 in the area, Pete G has just bought one as well.

Hopefully we'll see you both soon at one of the many get togethers.

thanks for the warm welcome, guys :)

can anyone recommend a good garage to go to in the northants area (that won't bankrupt me)? I want to try and do some work myself as it comes up but I'm pretty new to tinkering with cars, and its nice to have a good reliable fall back option.

btw I'd like to say there's an interesting reason behind the username but its pretty dull (same as my yahoo email and came from kronenberg which was my lager of choice 10 years ago)

Andy

Heres why I ask. Some years ago I joined an online gaming squad (guild as they are now) the leader was a chap called kronenbrg who's real name happed to be Andy and, if I recollect correctly, lived in the Northampton area. If, over ten years later, this guy, like me, had just bought a white 944 and joined the same forum within a couple of weeks of each other, it would be just too scary to contemplate.

I have to say though that white ones are the best ;)

It would be even scarier if he remembered you still owe him 100,000 credits in gambling debts
