Just thought I'd stop by and say hello.

I started off as a Tipec member when I had a Gemballa bodied 928 S4 (the mad wide arch car with the 4 exhausts on the nearside corner) a few years ago.

Unfortunately I sold the car due to not having the time to use it.

I am however back in the Porsche world as I am the salesman at Specialist Cars of Malton so get lots of lovely stuff to play with.

I will try and make it to the Yorkshire meets again (its been a while!) and hope to see some of you there, alternatively if anyone is passing Malton the kettle is always on, come and have a brew and a chat about cars!

Welcome to the club forum Mark.

If you’ve any pictures of the Gemballa 928 kicking about, I’d love to see what it was like.

Mine was slightly different to that (not least of all having a roof!!), mine was the avalanche body, no testarossa style side strakes but certainly wide arches.

I was wary of answering that as I didn't want to look like I was advertising, then I saw you are a moderator so here goes!

* 997 GT3 RS - Viper Green with £14.5k of extras
* 996 GT3 - Viper Green with matching interior
* 996 GT2 - Basalt Black
* Ruf Flatnose 935 with around 575 BHP :shock:
* 996 GT3R and 993 Cup RSR race cars
* 993 Turbo one owner 28k miles!
* 911 SuperSport Cab, one owner 41k miles!

and of course the 1973 IROC 3 litre RSR raced by Mark Donahue, Bill Webbe and Hurley Haywood plus loads of other cool stuff, 944s, 993s, a 968, a Westfield with 400+ BHP, you name it.

As to being a kid in a sweetshop, damn right! Every weekend I try and jump in something different, tonight I'm taking a Bentley Conti GT home for a customer and picking up our pink Boxster!!!

I am really lucky, I was off work for 14 months with ME, John who owns Specialist Cars contacted me and asked what I was doing (every time I came in with the 928 I'd tap him up for a job) and when I told him he let me start part time until I was better, something unheard of in the motor trade. Now I am nearly recovered and have a dream job.

I’ve seen the RUF flatnose in the press … looks like a real monster! Do keep hold of it until I win the lottery, won’t you?

It's a real handful, laggy as hell but when it comes on boost the performance is stunning. Ruf themselves had 211mph out of it.
