Hello all, been pestering the front four forum for the past couple of weeks but here's my formal introduction to my 951:

I sold my last propper car in september 07 help towards a deposit for a house :(

corrado VR6:

Image

loved the car to bits and had a fair while to wonder about what to replace it with whilst i beat around in an old 406 diesel estate  was a toss up between e36 M3 another corrao or an GTV v6. in the end i decided on a 951 as it had the rwd chassis and non of the chav image the m3 has.

i had my eye on this one for a while, then the owner reduced the price and couln't resist, so it was off to devon and back from manchester for a 12 hr round trip to pick it up! :driving

she's a 220bhp car that has been re-mapped to 250bhp.

Pic's from the advert:

5K serivce was due right away so i swapped the oil for some mobil 1 15-50W and put a new set of falken rubber on all round. The car has been very well maintained mechanically but cosmetics were in need of attention so i booked here in with a friend at Sigma Detailing in St annes for paint correction:

before dan set to work:

Sprayed the wheels with some non acid cleaner that just smelt AMAZING:

sprayed the car some snow foam and rinsed to lift any dirt off before a second wash with wool mitt:

You'd think the car would be clean by now? clay bar says no.
Image
ImageSnow foam and rinse again to get rid of anthing left after the clay bar:

Dry off with microfibre towel:

with the car clean you can really see all the defects in the paint, the car was covered in small scracthes and the wings were pretty bad

Masked up plastic bits:

So 2 hours later were ready for polish:

Remember that bonnet?:

before and after machine polish:

Wax next, applied by hand... sexy! apparently the heat from your palms makes the wax go on better...i jist think dan wanted to feel up my car
Image
Image
Spoiler next, hit with some trim restorer:
Image
Image
Image
Wheel sealant to protect them from brake dust:
Image
Image
Is this why they call it detailing?!?..getting rid of dust/residue:
Image
getting there now :bounce: tyre treatment:
Image
treated it to some new plates and bonnet badge:
Image
after a LONG day in the workshop the turbo rolled out into some late afternoon sun

Very VERY pleased with results! :bounce:

i also heard it was against the law to go to backpool and not visit the prom

Very very nice 8)

Just make sure it gets driven enough to get covered in dead flies  (though with all that wax they should wipe off a treat)

yes but due to the special hand applicated waxings the paint is impregnable to dirt particles you see

i'l look out for you :)

i lived in withington for a couple of years, rubbish place for a petrolhead to live, just no where to open up. it's great to have the east lancs on your doorstep, i often fly down to clucheth and drive over toward irlam. great road late evening. not too far to rivington too
