Evening, I'm live in Lincolnshire and I'm an alcoh...ooops wrong forum

I own a Guard's Red 944 of '84 vintage - and I confess it's only done 44 miles since it's last MOT 2 years ago.

It lives in the garage, under a cover and gets let out only when the sun shines.

Nice car mate! Mines the same colour and year, just coming up to 154,000 and still going strong.I ve got the pasha interior. Is yours the Porsche logo or leather?Mine also lives under a cover in the garage but does about 2500_3000 a year.We re taking it upto Gmund cars in north yorks tomorrow on a club visit which will be its first decent run of the year (and the weather forecast aint good) but they re tough old things!!

My name's Phil actually, Ian is the chap that originally started this thread and I just joined because of the Lincolnshire connection.

I feel guilty that the 944 hasn't seen more road use, but I keep thinking at the beginning of every month that I'll get it MOT'd and taxed, then something crops up and half way through the month you get think I'll wait till the end of the month..
and before you know it two years have passed!

It's Black Porsche logo cloth - with the beige carpets, usual thing, the drivers seat has seen better days and the dash top's got more cracks than a salt miner's foot. It had a bare metal respray just after I got it and then the water pump went - whilst it was in for that I had all the belts and bits done as recommended by Porsche that was another 1600 quids worth. I keep thinking of getting rid of it ('cause the wife nags about garage space - her new car is 'outside in the cold') but as in the previous paragraph....won't get much for it without the MOT

I do get it out every couple of months - run it up and down the drive and then let it idle until the fans kick in - and you know it starts everytime and just purrs

'got rid of your 996 to make way for your first child' - So one has to ask the question, did you keep the car in the house or will the child be kept in the garage?

As a father of three - I suggest the latter, makes for restful nights.....especially in the early years when they're just eating, crying, messing things...in fact it doesn't get any better, they become teenagers, come home pi55ed and mess in the wardrobe, knowing what I know now and how much they cost I'd have kept the Porsche!

 i want my c4s back
i used to live in the garage with it!!! beer in one hand and polish in the other!!!
to be fair the thing was draining us out of money and with child on way she had go.
my 1st Porsche was a clapped out 944 lux a couple of years ago so getting another will bring back some good memories. :)
