One of the things I get asked is what discounts do we offer.

I thought I would share with you what I have saved on the back of my membership so far this year.

German Swedish French: Pads, disks, filter for Haley's Bug. Also pads and discs for the '44 total £27.50

OPC: Battery for the Speedster £11.75

Entry to Silverstone £15.00

Mag Subscriptions £27.00

Legal protection Haley's bug £22.00 Alfa £25.00

Halfords Trade Card (no longer available but a few of us have them and we share) Battery, bulbs, wipers, oil £68.00

Polish and cleaning accessories 17.00

All in all a whopping £213.25

It sounds impressive, but how much have you had to spend to save a 'whopping' £213.25?

Not a problem for me  No such thing as a cheap Porsche if you actually use it!

Err, I'm pretty sure that Sean is only spending what he would otherwise have done. Surely you can see that the member discounts are really good? Just yesterday for example I saved over a tenner on a new driveshaft for my 944 at ECP :)

I had my AA membership knocked down earlier this month.
Service, belts and Radiator fan changed at OPC.
Reduction on my Porsche insurance

Not sure what the savings have been (estimate at least £100) but certainly far out strips the members fee :D

My halfords card and the trade suppliers like gsf have saved me hundreds.

Obviously you can save money buying stuff for the other cars (mini mostly for me) not just the Porsche.

Fantastic

I have only bought goods and services I needed, there are no qualifying spend limits with any of our partners. I actually spent £807 to achieve the saving and a chunk of that was on the rest of the Smallman fleet.

I've missed £9.90 off the cleaning stuff line as we receive free P&P as well.

I make that a total discount of 27.7%, don't tell the boss. Haley views all savings as handbag opportunities.

Nearly 28% is a discount worth having, and the answer to my somewhat negative sounding question has probably raised a few eyebrows.... eh Jim? 10% discount isn't a discount. You can get that anywhere without being a member of any club, but 28%? That's good.

I have now had my car for three years, it's a daily driver, I've done 43000 miles in it and all it's cost is two sets of tyres, which I research relentlessly for the best price, and the odd service, which I get done by my VW-Audi specialist garage owning friend, so I guess I can't really reduce the costs there.

However I do now need the rubber rear hatch lock seals, and maybe an ABS sensor or two.
