Hi

I have received a note from Douglas Valley stating that the discount scheme for members has been withdrawn.

That's quite a statement. Care to elaborate?

Some people find them expensive then like moaning about the fact on forums.

Buy the way don’t buy a Mars bar from Smiths news agent they wanted 58p. I said how much??? Do you know you can get 3 for a pound at Farm Foods, I’ll give you 40p, they said no its 58p, so I told them to stick it.
Rip off merchants last time I shop at Smiths news agents I can tell you!!!!

No justification for this then?

My minor dealings with them have been fine, and their man Graeme is Porsche through and through.

That's hardly a rip-off as such, just their pricing structure on those particular parts...

What's so funny? If the prices don't suit you (for whatever reason) don't pay them, shop elsewhere. It's not difficult really, is it. They're not forcing you to buy their stock. And there's no real reason to brand them 'rip-off merchants' on a friendly club forum.

BTW I have no affiliation to Douglas Valley Breakers whatsoever.

Are you sure? Doesn't sound like it.

I went to them for a bonnet for my 944S2. They happened to have a Cobalt Blue one in and said to me that they would normally sell it for £100 but knew I would ask for discount so would let me have it for £70 plus the vat. I offered £70 including vat but they wouldn't have it. I bought a Cobalt Blue bonnet from another Porsche breaker in Manchester for £30.

I think it says something when one of their employees follows me outside and tells me where I can buy stuff cheaper.......
