We would like to organise Club trips into Europe next year and I thought I would canvas some opinion on here.

Driving holidays are not cheap but they are good value both behind the wheel and socially over lunch and dinner sharing the days experiences. :)

We can do long weekend breaks to Champagne, Brittany or Northern France/Germany.

Or longer trips taking in the South of France, Alps, etc for 9 days or so.

As I said before, I leave for 9 day tour through the alps and I'm quite excited about it. A lot of organising has went into it. I'd be interested in doing it again next year, and I'm sure once people see pictures like the ones you posted, more people will see how good it can be.

I hope so, driving around Europe is so much more enjoyable than driving over here.

Bought my self a toll tag for France as well, to save all the messing about at the booths.

I do not even notice I am driving on the wrong side of the road, you adapt very quickly. :)

Have a good time and I look forward to hearing about your trip when you get back. :bounce:

We did the Swiss Alps in 2003,2005 and in 2008 with PCGB- so I'd agree it's a stunning area to drive around. :D
I'd be interested in either type of event..

Hi Sean

Jacquette and I have just got back from a week in Brittany. There are some lovely roads in that part of the world and most are very traffic free, although it is out of season at the moment.

You just need to stay within the speed limit (Easy with an up-to date SATNAV). The back twisting roads are still entertaining at that speed though, you don't need to go fast.

We would be interested in a trip next year (2013).

David

I would love to go on a European trip..it just depends if I have the funds and I would imagine fuel costs would already be quite pricey considering you can easily do £90 worth of fuel in one day alone, also I'm guessing you would be staying in Hotels/B&Bs and not camping. I wanted to do a European trip in my VW Camper but I've owned it for 7 years + and still not had the opportunity and driving a Porsche up and down mountains sounds double the fun to me.

Just got back from a weekend at the Laon Historic. I would put this down as a must for anyone next year.
It was the most amazing car event I have been to! Having clocked up over 1100 miles of enjoyable driving for the complete trip, I would recommend this weekend experience to anyone. Amazing driving through the French countryside in the Rallye on Saturday and then yesterday was amazing and exhilarating to take part in the round town drive in Laon.

Great food, Great wine, excellent petrol-head weekend and great scenary and landscape. Weather was amazing too!

I will be doing this again next year for definate!

Steve

I am certainly interested in future European trips. Probably next year as am already committed to Classic Le Mans in July and Circuit des Remparts in Angouleme in September.
Any Club European tours with elements to appeal to "her indoors" might be an idea???
