Hi All :)

Over this winter ,I will be writing an article for All Torque about the new 500/1000 hp Nitrous system I am fitting...two questions..

1, Is there a limit to size (number of pages etc as it will be a big article with a LOT of pictures) ?

2, Will it be printed "as is" or will there be "editing" ?

All the best Brett :)

it will doubtless be edited thats why we have an editor, big articles possibly go in over a number of issues.

As the mag is only 40 pages and 10 of those are ads, lengthy articles are best serialised if they are interesting enough to be included. You'll also need several pictures in each chapter to show the stages.

Tony will edit articles as needed.

I'm looking forward to reading it. :)

Hi :)

Ok thanks for the replies...

I am not sure I actually WANT it editing by anyone without my approval on any changes....

I will think about it :)

All the best Brett :)

There will almost always be amendments I need to make to articles submitted for All Torque. Sometimes it’s little things like spelling and grammar, often it’s editing for length—things need to fit the pages neatly, advertisers must be accommodated first, and so on.

I can see why you might be worried, with an article that could get pretty technical, that I don’t know the subject matter as well as you do. Time allowing, I’d be happy to drop you a copy of my edited version for you to read through and check before it goes to print.

Please bear in mind though that I’m the editor and my final say goes (although the article would be dropped rather than ever published in a form you weren’t happy with). This is because the quality of the magazine is my responsibility—I won’t publish something I’m not satisfied with.

Anything that doesn’t end up in print would be very welcome as forum posts. Nothing written should ever be wasted or given up on!

Hi :)

Thanks for the reply :)

My biggest worry was that a crucial piece of technical information might be edited out in the cause of brevity and therefore the article would not make sense :)

When I have completed it ,over the winter period ,I will send you a copy and you can let me know what you think....but I warn you it will be long with a lot of pictures lol :)

Maybe a series lol....

All the best Brett :)

No worries, that’s a fair point. Anytime I’m dealing with tech articles I’ll try to get them checked by the original author for that very reason (if I have had to remove or change anything), or maybe by another expert. If it holds things up, the article in question can just be kept back for the next issue.
