 Post subject: Oct/Nov issue, ‘To Preston And Back’

Just got this issue and it’s a cracking read as usual - thanks to all involved in production and all contributors.

I’m really keen on any features on members’ cars, so was drawn to Steve Tatham’s write-up on his new 944 Turbo acquisition. Looks lovely!

What puzzled me though is that I was nosey enough to check its last MOT report from just a few days ago. There was a long list of pretty major advisories, above and beyond any spotted by his friend who did the initial inspection. A number of them would have been impossible to spot without use of a ramp, so it was puzzling why the independent that the car was trailered to for new belts and tyres hadn’t reported them with benefit of their facilities.

Had they been spotted before negotiation, they would at the least have provided massive bargaining power!
