This could be me being a bit grumpy on a Sunday night. Are you guys getting as bored with all the tatting on here as I am. The number of 1st posters selling something or another or posters sticking parts in threads other than parts. If it is just me, I'll shut up

Tatting???? Is that summit from up Norff? Yes it does pee me off slightly, especially when they leap straight in & can't be bothered to introduce themselves. |

Hi Sean  Yes it annoys me as well.... Can you not say that a poster has to post a minimum of say...10 times before they can sell anything ? All the best Brett

The popular culprits seem to be silly priced wheels and plates from non enthusiasts. Always seems bad taste for a first post - which is often an only post... |

Just set the forum software to make the first 10 posts from a new user on Moderation... The Moderator either Ok`s them or sends them an automated reply, telling them why the post wont appear... We do it all the time on the Nitrous Forums I am an administrator on.... maybe 5 minutes a day of the Moderator or Administrators time... As its usually the same suspects , it would decrease those posts drastically... All the best Brett

Moderating the first 10 will affect all noobies - including none advertisers. Elsewhere; We edit their post with a new message saying - 'Please make an introductory post as per the rules before advertising goods for sale.' Thank you. Then just lock the thread. |

Sorry guys the minimum post limit is a waste of time. Several forums I'm on enforce the rule & all it results in is x amount of crap posts to ensure they reach the limit. At least one of these forums has scrapped the rule because of this. |
