Nice to meet up this morning, such a shame about the river previously known as the M42!!

Typically is sunshine here now?
Enjoyed the coffee and a catch up though. :D

Shocking bad luck with weather. I was planning to attend and say hello but waking up to torrential rain put paid to that!

Yes nice catch up this morning, M42 closed at the NEC on the way back, got off at J6 and headed up the A446, hit what seemed like a lake just before the NEC exit slip road, the mundano was like bl00dy barge and needed both lane of the dual carriageway, sphincter twitching moment !

Yes, came across the M42 but had exited prior for the 'car shopping' = totally ignored by the VW dealership

Such a shame as the sun came out as soon as I got home!
I think most places further south were dry later in the day, I've read that the Hill opened up for runs in the afternoon..

I did the first run of the day at 10am but it was bl**dy dangerous and after two other cars had a go it was closed by the marshalls until conditions improved. Real shame as its a great event with decent weather.

What a great event this was, whilst it started cold first thing in the morning when a group of us met to convoy down from Birmingham, the sun came out in earnest and provided a stunning day for people to enjoy the event.
Plenty of parking for people to sit around enjoying a picnic or catering at the various outlets.
Some stunning classic cars in the concours, although not my thing I did appreciate the standard of the cars there.
Brilliant to see many of the classics having a run up the hill too :D

We were well looked after by John at the Marcos owners club and had a fair few runs up the hill ourselves, allowing plenty of stories and excitement to follow!!
Some of us wearing the battle scars of dust more than others

It was a non expensive day out to enjoy.

Not my video but you get a feel for the day https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-r7YEE0oW8

Coming very late to this......................

It was a great day out and not costly like many motoring events.

If anyone remembers the blue Triumph Stag hairing up the hill - it was me with my daughters!! Gave the new diff a good airing.

Missed it in 2016 - it was a late announced event due to organisational issues so I was away! Hopefully they'll do it in 2017.

Have booked the June 17 'refresher hillclimb day' - might have the 944 ready by then!

Ian

Very late :D

Unfortunately Marcos have already announced they aren't doing the event next year. :(
