If not - would anyone be interested in a meeting ?

Chris

Yorkshire is similar to East Midlands, we have a few members scattered about.

Feel free to drop me a note or give me a call and we can take things further. Like I said to Jim, pick a pub and tell the world and see who turns up.

It can take a while to build up a decent attendance, much easier these days with social media.

Ta Sean

Hi Chris,

According to the site there is something at the Arabian Horse Pub on the first Tuesday of every month:

I've never been so don't know if it actually happens. Let us know if you're going though, I may try and get along next week. Or if you fancy organising something else post it here, I'll try my best to get along.

As Sean says - find yourself a pub with a friendly landlord and Porsche friendly parking, close to either a motorway or arterial route. Choose yourself a regular day of the month. Spread the word here, Porsche Owners UK on fb, 997 enthusiasts on fb etc, plus the Porsche forum on Pistonheads and on 911UK etc.

Make sure you're there month on month and keep plugging away.

Create a tipec fb group for your region and encourage anyone who comes to the pub meet to join that. Get their email addresses and chuck out the odd email telling folk you're having a breakfast run, or a chippy tea run or a curry run or (God forbid) attending a 'classic car show'...

All of a sudden, you've got yerself a little tipec region!

Oh, you may need to encourage folk to actually take out a club membership. But once people realise that there is a benefit to a paid-membership club even in these modern, connected times, getting a few bob out of them isn't difficult.

Chris - I'm the current Regional Organiser for the North West Region - feel free to contact me for a chat if you wish. We have a 'Northern ish Inter-Region Gathering' scheduled for early April which may interest you: it's a brunch meet for several of the northern/midland regions including the newly formed Peterborough group.

Have you seen there is a multi-region gathering planned for April 9th in Collingham (outside Leeds)? Saw it on Facebook.

Oh yeah, that's mine and Colin's handywork. We're hoping that we get a good number of cars/members from each of the northern regions along. Just let your local R.O. know if you're going (even if he/she has something more important to do that day) so that we have an idea of numbers for catering (for breakfast/brunch).

Yorkshire Classic Porsche are just across the road and are opening up their premises especially for us on the day.

Unfortunately I don't have an R.O. to inform as far as I know (I'm in Yorkshire region).
