Finally got round to putting a few photos together from the Classic.... cracking event!

The car performed brilliantly even at some rather ahem lovely speeds ;)

From this on the Wednesday morning we got to Dover in around 6 hours including stops and the dreaded M25!
Image

Thursday didn't bode well for the 944 Turbo, a 2 month old Pirtek fuel hose ruptured on the high pressure line in the rubber hose between the fuel rail and the hard line. 20 mins from the port and only half an hour to get there....
Image

But he found a mobile hydraulic fitter who had the hose and very fitting under the sun :D He was there in around 20 mins and had a new hose made and on in another 20 mins - for £100 all in - that's property service.

Hotel at last - only took us 9 hours from Calais to Le Mans via the scenic routes :)
Image

Got some attention at the rest stops
Image

What's that in the mirror?
Image

Nice - amazing what else you see on your way!
Image

Porsche museum on the move and a full garage set up for service with a stunning 944 in it!
Image

Image

So many awesome cars you become "super car blind"
Image

and there's some lovely race trucks there as well! his is my favourite!
Image

Now, Porsche Club France do things big style and big time - they didn't just have a stand they had a field all the way to the horizon - it was massive! All the cars on display were in model order. Given the number of cars, the fact they only had 5 or 6 968's shows just how rare our cars really are!

It may be our predecessor but it looks the poodles privates - the Leeds competition car:
Image

and this just minding its own business....
Image

Who's the daddy, I mean boss?
Image

In the main stand:
Image

Shaken not stirred? Martini anyone?
Image

In the very early hours, 4:50am I seem to recall, we parked up next to a very nice little number :) a Lotus I seem to think....
Image

Mulsanne into Indianapolis...
Image

and round to Arnage
Image

Image

Last day - and it was damn hot!
Image

Thought I'd share a few of the pertinent moments and photos with you. There's loads more photo's in my photo bucket if you want a nosy at the other stuff.... Enjoy :D

The 968 cabriolet really changes the proportions of the car. I love it. They must be rarer still, I've never seen one.

Got a feeling that's a Westfield Eleven there, Chris, though I'll happily stand corrected.

... which is based on the Lotus 11. I'd have a hard time telling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westfield_XI

It passed muster for me :) it was a nice creation whichever it was :D think it broke down quite quickly on the way out if that helps point a direction on its originality

I was at LMC in my 289 Cobra replica - around the 15th or 16th time I have taken this car to Le Mans. We had a great trip, we didn't have to use the hood at all, unlike 2 years ago. Sorry we didn't see any of you down there.

Once my car is completely sorted I'm going to have to do this. Looked like all had a great time!

Looks like a great trip, I've not been there for the last four years, would like to go on the next one though. Indeed to get my act together

Sounds good Greg :) I believe there a Tipec trip to the Spa Classic in May next year which I'm toying with going to..... Failing that, the 2018 Le Mans is on the cards!
