TIPEC SCOTLAND JULY 2015 MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES.

A much warmer welcome this month with the temperature starting to rise up here in Scotland. A good turnout this evening with 18 bodies and 8 Porkers in the carpark. A special welcome to a few new members and potential members who have came along to tonight's meeting also.

First thing to mention this evening was tonight's (Thursday 2nd July) Restoration workshop visit and buffet evening at Knowes farm in East Lothian EH42 1XJ. An evening to see a few classic cars in various states of restoration for example a genuine 356 Speedster, a Martini 924 (the oldest one left in the uk) a 1985 3.2 Carrera 911 and many other vintage vehicles lying around. There will be a Buffet also free gratis. This evening is open and all non members, PCGB etc are welcome and we are kicking off around 7pm onwards. A very informal evening and a chance to see old school proper restoration by Classic car expert Bill Dalgetty. I hope to see you all
there.

Next is a week on Saturday the Tartan Tarmac event at Erskine this was not on the formal diary of events as on this weekend we were unable to go to Glamis so this show popped up instead to which a few are going. (Separate email been circulated) So everyone going we will meet at the show as we are from all over. My understanding is that we will be indoors for this event. No gazebo etc and will see you all there. This is an event to raise money for charity so the entrance fee paid in advance to a great cause.

Next of mention was the annual BBQ and concourse day on Sunday19th July which will be held at the Boness Motor Museum and all members and immediate family are welcome. This is always a popular day so please come along and enjoy catching up with other members and please remember to have the cars cleaned for the Concourse event. This event will run 2 competitions a street Concourse and a Concourse d'elegence, Please let the judges know which competition you would like to enter prior or on the day. The judges will be Martin Whitelaw and James McLauchlan this year once again, I will be head Chef and anyone with any special dietary requirements please let me know in advance so I can prepare i.e. a vegetarian option for example. The museum will be open as normal and if you have not had the chance to visit it as yet then a great opportunity to do so on this day. Please bring only yourself and the Porker and the sunshine with you!!!!!!!

The weekend after that some of us are away to the Silverstone Classic event at Silverstone. I will be producing laminated contact cards for everyone going with mobile numbers so everyone can keep in contact over the weekend etc. Most of us staying at the Duncow Hotel in Dunchurch approx 15 miles from the event. Weather on the long range forecast looks to be warm around 23 and Sunny with no rain for that weekend. My first time to this event and looking forward to it very much. Pre paid tickets will be sent out 7-10 days prior to the event from my understanding of the website. All in all a good weekend ahead and something for everyone at this event..
