TIPEC SCOTLAND JUNE 2015 MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES.

A warmer welcome this month with the temperature starting to rise up here in Scotland. A good turnout this evening with 32 bodies here tonight and 19 Porkers on display in the Boness Motor Museum car park. An increase in numbers this evening as it was Angelwax who were in the car park demonstrating many of there excellent detailing products and 3 hours of non stop advise and practical demonstrating. This is an evening whereby we opened up PCGB also and a huge thanks to Matt and Donald from Angelwax for coming along and showing everyone the world of car detailing in every aspect a very informative evening for everyone. Please visit http://www.Angelwax.co.uk for more info on all there products and if you ever order from Matt and the team please quote your membership number for your Tipec discount.

A huge thanks to Martin and Elaine Whitelaw for putting our Sunday lunch run together last Sunday (31st May) down the East Coast. It was a great day out shared by 18 of us in 9 Porkers screeching around East Lothian trying to find the various locations on the list we were given to which we all made it in the end. A visit to the Myreton Motor Museum and finally Lunch in Dirleton Village at the Open Arms Hotel to which was a fantastic meal and a great day out. Once again thanks Martin and Elaine for putting the day together.

June the 7th (This Sunday) takes up to the ever popular Thirstaine Castle Classic car extravaganza there 43rd anniversary and we have 20 cars confirmed and I have NO spare passes left for this a full house for Sunday coming. We will meet at Straiton Retail Park outside Halfords Car Park at 0845/0900 depart to the show. A fabulous setting with over 1500 vehicles of all eras and types from Motor bikes to Buses etc and not to forget the vast auto jumble on offer. We will have the gazebo and full catering facilities with us as per the norm and all we need is the sun so fingers crossed.

June the 21st sees us at Lathalmond for the Festival of Historic Transport we are only allowed 10 spaces at this event and we have 7 cars confirmed so 3 spaces spare at the current time. Once again first come first served meet details etc to follow. We will meet at the show as we are coming from all over and we need to be in place for 0945am. Please let me know ASAP if you wish to join us for this one.

On June 28th will be the Moffat Classic car show and I have one or two passes still available for this show, again we will meet at Straiton Retail Park just of the Edinburgh City Bypass at 0815/0830 depart for the show those of you coming from the West then I will have your pass at the gate waiting for you upon arrival. We will have the Gazebo and full catering as per the norm. A great show with over 900 vehicles on display and plenty auto jumble to hand at this show also.

The July meeting will see us NOT AT BONESS but at Knowes Farm in East Lothian postcode EH42 1XJ . This evening will be a visit to Bill Dalgetty, Classic car restoration workshop and buffet evening. A chance to see a true professional workshop where on display will be many vintage and classic cars in various states of restoration and a chance to ask Bill questions etc. on anything restoration wise. This is an evening whereby we invite along PCGB also and anyone interested in the restoration side of cars etc.

Sadly on the 12th of July we were supposed to be going as a club to Glamis Castle however due to the show being at capacity some time ago we are unable to attend this year and I have been advised that for next year we will have to have the application in by early April in order to avoid disappointment. This year will see a vast increase in individual entries and we were not the only car club turned away this year. A real shame as it is always a fantastic show and venue. However that doesn't stop any of us going as a visitor for the day instead.

James McLauchlan mentioned this years BBQ and Concourse event would take a different format from previous years. The BBQ will be the same with me slaving away with the BBQ, however the 2 competitions that will be running on the day will be entered by yourself and you may choose to which competition you wish to enter weather it be the Street Concourse or the Concourse D'Elegence. You will only be allowed to enter 1 of the 2 competitions and there will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for both .Always a popular day out and a chance to meet many of the other members from the region and a day to relax and chill out while we wine and dine you free gratis for all members and there immediate family not to mention the Boness Motor Museum will be open for those wishing to visit it.

Elaine is still looking over suitable venues for the Christmas bash this year and will be in touch very soon regarding possible dates and places etc. Anyone with a Christmas idea the please pass on your suggestions to Elaine via email as per below.

As you can see from the list below a vast array of events and days out and anyone wishing any more info on the list below then please do not hesitate to get in touch with us and we will be only to happy to answer and questions etc you may have.
