A new tipec NW date for your diaries: July 13th will be our first run to the Turbary Woods Owl and Birds of Prey SanctuaryWhitestake, Preston followed by cream tea on the lawn at Castle Levy, Southport.

Meet at The Boatyard at 12:30 for a short run to our feathered friends. The admission prices are really friendly and there's a flying display at 2pm. Great for mums, dads, children and grand parents. Probably not so good for dogs...

From Turbary we'll head over to Southport at about 2:45 for a cream tea kindly provided by Tony and Joyce Levy.

Please comment here if you're coming along.

Thanks.

This event is getting closer. Turbary Woods bird sanctuary is really good value at £5 for an adult and £3 for a child to get in. If you want to meet there, the address is 92 Chain House Lane, Whitestake, Preston, PR4 4LB. We're aiming to arrive for about 12:45

If you're not bothered about the birds, but want to meet there to drive over to Castle Levy in Southport, you'll find us in the lower car-park area at about 14:45

If you want to go straight to Castle Levy, contact AML911 on here via a personal message for directions/address etc.

the original Victorian mansion (which was demolished in the 1950's when our bungalow was built) was named Elsinore. The Danish city of Helsingor (Elsinore) is famous for Kronborg castle where Shakespeare's play Hamlet is set. So I suppose we have a tenuous association with a castle :)

Breaking news: We are being joined by Cheshire and Staffs stalwarts, the Murphys, on Sunday. I will be on best behaviour.

Another tipec NW home-grown event in-the-bag. We were blessed with good weather. We saw the birds of prey and pictures were taken. We had a convoy of 7 Porsches and 1 Peugeot. 17 people enjoyed their cream tea on the lawns at Castle Levy. Sincere thanks to Tony and Joyce for hospitality and to the good burghers of tipec for making the event a succes.
