October 2013 Scottish monthly
Meeting minutes.

The weather defiantly on the turn and winter fast approaching. 12 bodies and a couple of Porkers in the car park this evening and a special welcome along to tonight’s meeting to Steve Bell a new member with his 996, welcome to the club Steve.

I said at last months meeting we did not have much in the way of activity in October and November so James McLauchlan has put together a wee Sunday Lunch Run to Loch Lomond on the 27th of this month, meeting at Stirling Services at 1130am and heading for the Rowardennen Hotel for Lunch. The drive from Stirling Services will be approx 33 miles and for those wishing to join us from the west then maybe meet us at Drymen otherwise Stirling Services and in convoy to the Hotel. Anyone wishing to join us please let us know ASAP so we can get an idea for numbers for the Hotel. ( a separate email regarding this evening has been circulated to the regions members)

For November we have arranged a Ten Pin bowling evening on the 7th of November at Deer Park in Livingston just off Junction 3 on the M8 behind the BP petrol station. We will need to be on site by 1830hrs and kicks of at 1900hrs; snacks and basket supper type food will be available and is ordered at the bar as and when required. A wee prize for the winner shall be in order and anyone wishing to go again contact us ASAP to get an idea of numbers. (A separate email regarding this evening has been circulated to the regions members) For those with sat nav the post code for Deer Park is EH54 8AB.

We spoke briefly regarding a spring run for next year and a possible idea maybe to meet up with the North West Region and have a joint spring run? Brian Wood also talked about the Essen Classic Car show in Germany which will be on the 26-30th of March 2014. This show is reputed to be the largest Classic Car Show in the world and Brain and myself have booked flights and will be attending this show in Germany so anyone interested then I would recommend you book the flights at least early as they will fill up quickly. Brian has booked flights for us both and at present they are approx £110 per person return from Glasgow flying out on the 27th March (Thursday) and returning on the 31st March (Monday). This show has been on my personal wish list for a while now so I am looking forward to this one and a strong pair of walking shoes required and a few extra batteries for the camera. The flights for your information are with Lufthansa and are non stop flights. So if you fancy it then get your finger out and book it!!! Please click on the link below for more information.

A reminder that the Christmas bash is on the 14th December at the Fishers Hotel in Pitlochry again a separate email with full details will be circulated as a reminder, still rooms available and 34 have booked up so far so a good turnout here also and the more the merrier I say!!!

The NEC in November 15th, 16th and 17th is always something I go to and there are 4 of us flying down on the Saturday we are flying from Edinburgh staying 1 night and home on the Sunday evening anyone interested then get booked up and join us a huge classic car show and something for every petrol head at this event!!!!
