September 2013 Scottish monthly
Meeting minutes.

A warm welcome the Jim Jamieson new member and proud owner of a red Boxster S , a warm welcome to the club Jim. A wee bit down in numbers tonight 12 bodies and 4 porkers in the car park. However I suspect after Sunday past at Calderglen Country Park Brian wood and myself exhausted everyone have hosted Scotland’s largest gathering of Porsches.

A big thank you to everyone who turned up to this event it was a huge success with 93 Porsches from all decades there and I have to say a real treat for everyone and the visiting public. Glasgow Porsche Centre came along and supported the show with a display car and donated prizes and also Angelwax detailing company also for supplying prizes. In addition Chris Swinton from Strathclyde Police came along with the company car lol and the wheel specialist. To all who helped a massive thank you and never before in Scotland has there been such a gathering of Porsches at a single event. We will look forward to next year’s event which will only get bigger and thank you for all the nice positive comments regarding the show. The biggest thank you goes to Brian the cake wood for putting it all together a real credit to his passion for this event.

Next on tonight’s agenda was The Gaydon Weekend and we have 15 Porkers travelling to Gaydon and 30 bodies a record I think for the Annual trip for the 20th anniversary weekend and once again a big thanks to everyone who is making the 700/800 mile round trip. The meet details for the Friday have been sent in a separate email to all who is going and I shall be travelling down after work so will arrive in the evening have a pint ready for me guys and dolls!!! The Scottish region always very supportive of the national show and once again this year that does reflect in the numbers making the trip down south to what always is an excellent weekend in great company it has to be said.

The wheels and wings show for the 22nd September is NOW CANCELLED due to lack of interest for this one however we do have a late invite by Strathaven Classic Car club to attend there show on 15th September so looking for bodies etc for that one so far 5 cars are confirmed so let me know ASAP if you wish to come.

A reminder that the Christmas bash is on the 14th December at the Fishers Hotel in Pitlochry again a separate email with full details will be circulated as a reminder, still rooms available and 30 have booked up so far so a good turnout here also and the more the merrier I say!!!

The NEC in November 15th, 16th and 17th is always something I go to and there are 4 of us flying down on the Saturday we are flying from Edinburgh staying 1 night and home on the Sunday evening anyone interested then get booked up and join us a huge classic car show and something for every petrol head at this event!!!!

October looks fairly non eventful for the region so I will put together a wee Sunday Chippy run so look out for details on that and any suggestions for a good fish supper and route then just let me know and ill get it sorted.
