After having spent a couple of thousand pounds over the last three months making sure the Porsche is mechanically perfect, I now aim to take the Porsche off the road for the winter and to have bodywork done etc. The car is taxed and MOT'd, and I want to keep it insured so that I can take it to and from garages etc, as well as keeping the option of using it if I so fancy.

In the meantime I have bought a BMW 525i Touring to knock around in - it's a bit more useful and comfortable than the S2, but nowhere near as much fun!

My problem is the insurance. I am in the fortunate position of having two car insurance policies with two lots of maximum no claims bonus, yet I don't seem to be able to find one of these insurance policies that will allow me an annual 5000 miles and charge me £150 a year for the Porsche.

Could somebody please give me some pointers?

Thank you.

So long as you have a garage then it shouldn't be a problem. Though 5000 miles may be a bit high. Try 3000.

3000 miles on the 928 for £170 at CVI. I waited until they started @£220, knocked off a few things and brought it to 190, then asked for my TIPEC discount.

Mine's with Heritage insurance with 5000 miles limit.
cost about £150 a year. I've let it lapse for winter in the hope of tidying it up a little.
