I'm due to renew my insurance on my mini, which should be easy but I'm finding it hard to get a decent quote. The best I can find is about £450 which seens daft to me, I paid £488 last year and I'm not changing much. Any suggestions? I'm looking at all the mainstream guys since it's a mainstream car, but thinking of trying a broker to bring it down. High postcode area but in a locked garage, et.c.

Effectively Moneysupermarket and GO Compare etc are brokers, so the guys on the high st would struggle to beat these guys, unless the car is bespoke. The cheapest tends to be Go Compare but it worth taking a punt on both. You could try Tesco value car insurance where the excess is huge - but you will find the above covers them too!

I like Sky Insurance, they work like a broker but they offer a great price all the time. I wouldn't bother with comparison sites to be honest

Thanks for suggesting Sky Diogo. I might change.
