Hi,

Just got the drivers side seat cushion back from the trimmer's (Rick @ Silver Fern MK.)...looks great, a lot work stripping the seat's out..fitted a 928 temp seat in the drivers side (swopping of runner assy was fun as the frame is completely diifferent and the seat belt buckle needed the 944 manual runner fitting to the 928 seat)...928 seat felt like a luxury arm chair in there :D

Will post some more pic's if anybody's interested.

Cheers

Derrick

Yes please - post lots

You have the exact same cloth as my S2 and I had heard it's impossible to find these days. I am in Northampton so this place in MK would be very local, what sort of prices does he charge?

Yeah, post some more pic's mate. If you've read my post about seat repairs, you'll know what woes I'm going through. Glad you found a good 'un to do your seats.

Hi Guys,

Yep will do, here are some pic's of the seat back :-the RH section of bolster has been replaced, usual place ..it had a hole right where the piping meets the vinyl..as the seat belt sits across that area i guess the buckle snags it regular !!

Here's were the hole was on the foam, got a tip from the trimmer, prep the foam surface (clean off any loose pieces from area and apply a good quality RTV silicone, I used Dow & Corning)...then spray with a little Light LUBRICANT.. i used WD40, then immediately shaped the area to match the surrounding contours..the RTV quickly forms a "skin" so you have to work pretty quickly. Let it set and then when i fit the cover and secure the trim, it'll take the form and be the original shape. I 'll send some more pic's of the seat when its all assembled. Cheers

Paul,
How's your interior ? mine was ok but this colour/style is a killer ! it can look very grubby without real care and atten, i was amazing lucky with getting hold of the velour/vinyl...a guy in Bedford has exactly the same car as mine and had a some spare and let me have it. his had a retrim (previous owner) looks like new & original. It seem's the velour is prone to perishn (20yr car etc etc) ..my pass seat needs some love ..i got Rick to do some runn repairs e.g Glue the section with support from back...i don't have sufficent velour let to do the base.!!! Tried sourcing it but its near impossible (German trim is obsolete..spoke to the guy from Southern Trimmers, only had sample patch).

Porsche,
Sorry to hear you trim saga, what a bunch of cowboys !! Hope you get it sorted, mine only has a very small leather interior  (a little panel at the base of seat back)..keep on at them... take no sh!t.

Cheers

The seat back together, obvious base and back difference in NEW base and 20YR back but a marked improvement on the seat overall, gonna look at the carpet's next, might take it out and and get the edging re-piped in beige leather..its split and the pile is a bit grubby, has anybody had a luck with sourcing the moulded front carpet ?.. i've heard its no obsolete !!

Cheers

I've found a supplier in the states. They do any colour you like rhd or lhd. Made to order. Complete carpet is £200 but theres another £100 for shipping. Then the dreaded VAT & duty & handling fee. So it ends up a bit OTT. You can get just the front (Half the shipping etc.) But it will show up the rear if you do. Heres the link anyway. http://www.aaaautocarpet.com/colors.php Was half thinking about this for mine but the shipping is the problem. Carpet is heavy. But you can pay loads for custom carpets here. You can deal through ebay for security.

Lindsey if you just want a boot carpet theres a company in Bradford that does a floor only in whatever colour you want. They sell mats on ebay for the '44 around £10. Think the boot floor was less than £20 They don't have any listed right now. You can get a full set with boot to match for £35 + P&P The name will come to me........ Autosynergy. Send them an message through ebay.
