Hi all, just wondering what products you would all recomend to tidy up my 944S interior? I don't want to use any product that will damage or fade the plastics or leathers etc and as I have only owned it for 4 months I bow down to your superior knowledge. The can can red (I think) leather seats have got some staining and are very shiny with the drivers seat having a tear, but the rest of the interior is in very good condition apart from the centre of the steering wheel being faded.
Also can anyone tell me if my seats were a standard colour as a guy at porsche-apart in Ramsbottom said he had only ever seen one 944 with those colour seats in the last 16 years and he suspected it may have been my car. Thanks.
Andy Bruce.

If it's full leather Gliptone do a range of products that are as effective as they are reasonably priced. There based in Todmorden if you want to take the car & get the colour matched liquid leather. I just stiched my seat for now. Looks loads better. The conditioner makes it smell like new leather.

Sorry for being a pain but can anyone shed any light on this as I'm dying to know if I've got a rare one? :bounce: Thanks in advance.

Never ever heard of Can Can in a 944 of any sort. Only seen it in 911 & the odd Boxster. I think in period it would have been an expensive option, it certainly was on the 911!
If you give your chassis number to an OPC they can confirm the build details with Reading & maybe confirm how many were in this scheme.
Be interested in seeing some pics.

Can can was the 911 slant nose standard spec in 1986, so I guess it would have been on the options list.

Just made a call via Porsche Great Britain web page and a helpful lady called Karen had a look in their library for me and told me can can red seats and bolsters were an option but said I would have to fax some proof of ownership to her if I wanted to know if mine left the factory like that. I just wish I'd asked her how many were produced with that interior!
Just need to sort that rusty sill and wheel arch now as they're really letting the side down!

I've only seen one other Can Can red interior on a 944 and that is in the 2nd 3.2 Turbo that Jon Mitchell has built. It's a black car with dark tinted windows so you can't readily see it from the outside but the soft trimmings are totally red - seats, carpet, door trim etc

I just touched up my leather in my car. The place I got the stuff from has Can Can Red on their chart, here:
