I've just bought a 968 (what a way to start Porsche ownership!!) and will need to put some new tyres on it in a couple of months. It's currently shod with Continental 205/50/ZR17 and 255/40 ZR 17 tyres.

Any comments on what brand to replace with? Have looked at Dunlop (which I can get very cheaply) and Bridgestone. Thoughts anyone please? TIA.

Depends what you want to pay. I don't like the recommended tyres due to price. Falken & Khumo do budget tyres that are well regarded. I think it also depends on the mileage you intend to do. Little point spending big money on rubber if your only going to do 2K miles a year as in 4 years they will have gone hard & need replacing anyway. I prefer to buy a full set of budget tyres & replace the lot when there past there best. Also cheaper if you get an unrepairable puncture.

As I'm going to be on limited mileage insurance I think I'll look at a cheaper option. Thanks for the comments all.
