Hi Folks

Looking to upgrade my wheels on my 986 Boxster S year 2000 to 19 inch rims my understanding is that it will need to be

8.5 j 5x 130 ET 56 (FRONTS) and 9.5 j 5X 130 ET 46(REARS)

Not sure if any other size would fit the rear for example some wheels are 11 j with a 42 ET on the rear but will they fit???

Cheers Neil

The official Porsche view is they don't support bigger than 18" on 986, which you may wish to talk to your insurance co. about.
There is a fitment chart somewhere on the web & I believe that 10" is the largest for the rear of a Boxster & even that is tight.

10's will fit the rear of the Boxster fine. I'm currently running 10x18 Carrera lightweight alloys on my 986 with 18mm spacers (to clear the strut) and there are no problems.

If you do increase the size to 19" then your best option is in turn to go to a smaller sidewall tyre to keep the same overall profile and rolling radius. The issue you'll have with that is the smaller tyre will give a much harsher ride and not be so forgiving, even more so if your on lowered suspension.
