Can some one please tell me the pin numbering? I have the switch out and it's difficult from the Clarke's notes to quite understand the orientation.
I'm trying to measure the resistance across the pins. The reference point being the plastic pin.

I tested input (terminal A) and output (terminal R) on the main relay fuse box mount (94461511702) which is fine.
Tested all 3 limit switch for discontinuation with lever depressed.
Teeth on both arms are A1 and cogs are A1. Lubricated all of it as it was a little dry. It all looks very new.
Teeth on motor drive wheel are fine.
Clutch seems to be set perfect;y (after some degree of guesswork). With the motor (connected directly from a power pack), when it reaches the limit of cable travel in either direction), the motor stops trying to move the cable. No risk of stripping teeth there.
Tested motor operation in both directions using a 12v supply. again fine. The lifting arms are going in an out without resistance.
Swapped directional relays around. No change to operation - going one way only.

That leaves the switch and main relay. Is there a test I can carry out to test the relay function?

Lastly, in the Clarke's notes, I could not ascertain which of the ganged switches is ii or iii.

Help!

Thanks.

Have you tested the micro switch in the centre at the front of the roof

also the two micro switches in the boot and the relays on the same unit.

What is the roof not doing ?

Not going up.

I have sorted it, bad contact with the micro switch at the front between the visors. However, the right hand (o/s) channel that the arm slots into is worn to the extent that it isn't locking down. The left one is fine.

944 564 162. Pricey

So, I need to source one.

On another tack...

I would like to find the part numbers for the 4 panels that go on the underside of the bonnet. Not that it is important but i'm attempting to get the whole thing all functioning properly and everything where it should be.

PET2 someone? Waylander? Thanks mate. :D

Okay thanks but have you got part numbers for the panels?

I managed to realign the lift arm guide. It us sufficient to put it into the lock position. Happy now. The sunroof saga has been a long haul.

So the PET2 is a 'live' database?

Yes it is

Updated twice a month with prices and parts

And yes I have looked at sharing it on the web, but you cannot host a workstation in the cloud
And you cannot install the software on a server

And also I don't think I would have my freedom for very long

Ah.

When Mercedes decided to turn all dealers into franchises, they pi$$ed off so many of the time served Mechanics who then started selling CD Rom Data sheets and Data cards of the entire Mercedes range.
I managed to get a copy on fleabay (from Poland) as I restored a W123 series and the CD Rom's were invaluable.

Awful contact with the miniaturized scale switch at the front between the visors. Be that as it may, the correct hand (o/s) channel that the arm spaces into are worn to the degree that it isn't securing. The left one is fine.

944 564 162. Expensive

Along these lines, I have to source one.

On another tack...

I might want to discover the part numbers for the 4 boards that go on the underside of the hood. Not that it is vital but rather I'm endeavoring to get the entire thing all working legitimately and everything where it ought to be.

Where is my post gone?!

I bought a donor 944 and then sold said donor 944 to Woolies Workshop. In a box of bits that was in the back of the donor was 2 guides (944 564 162) as I bought new one's. This was on account of my sunroof having no really big issues, just a heap of minor problems that I did not want re-ocurring.
But the guides were in good nick. Perhaps you should give Paul a ring.
