Boxster key fob battery change - I say chestnut because I first Googled the problem and there are lots of people with the same problem, several cures but none of them worked with me.
I changed the battery on one of my keys and now it will not lock or open the car. Lucky I didn't do them both. How do I get the car to recognise the key that was working (just) because it needed a new battery.
Many Thanks
Brian Harris

Does it not detail it in the manual? Mine does for the Jag.

Hi Jim
I have been through the Manual and it tells you about changing battery etc but does not mention you could lose contact with the vehicle.
Thanks

Went to Porsche for the answer, they say I was unlucky to have lost the key code just by changing the battery. It turned out I had to buy a new key fob and it would take half an hour to fix, an hour later I was informed that as Germany had gone home they couldnt get the code required and I will have to wait untill they send it, proberbly tomorrow which means another 50 miles added. I had to pay today, It was only
£163-00, not much when you say it quick.

163! Not good, but the keys are big money alone, might be worth contacting a lock out Company next time, some can be done some can't but may be cheaper.
