This has probably been done to death so apologies in advance.

Does anyone know how the system reads whether a door is locked or unlocked?

If you try and lock the car from the drivers door it quickly unlocks because the passenger door is not locking.

All of the mechanism on the passenger looks in place and lubricated, but you cant hear the motor locking / unlocking on the key, so my initial thought was a duff motor. However you can hear the motor locking and unlocking when you press the locking button on the centre console. So the motor must be working?

I'm guessing there is a micro switch somewhere, or maybe there is a switch on the drivers side that transmits a signal to the passenger side.

If anyone can give me a clue I would really appreciate it.
