Hi guys, had my 924 (2.0 n/a 1984 model) in at the auto electricians last week as the head lights did not want to pop up (again!) the monday morning going to work. They fixed a short in a previously repaird section of wiring between the headlamps and all was ok. Untill i took it home.

The fuel gauge is reading half with the resreve fuel light on (i know it has about 1/4 of a tank in it), the voltmeter is reading low charging (i know it is charging properly as i checked with a multimeter on the battery, engine running - 14 volts, alternator recon'd last year), the engine coolant temp. gauge shows the engine rapidly warms up and goes past the red section on the markings. I did have to tighten the +ve battery terminal connector, as the gauges were all over the place on the way home, after calling the auto electricians about the problems.

Would this just be a case of checking earths/ connections for the gauges and senders? I hope its nothing too complicated as ive already possibly spent on the electrics (mostly lights and fuel pump related problems) what i paid for the car. I'm starting to think i should bin the current loom and get a new one made or just get rid of the car (i really don't want to though).

Hope you guys can help. Thanks in advance.
Matt.
