In the other forum areas I started a "what did you do today" thread so people could post an update to what they have been up to without it needing to be a thread all on its own... it has been handy at keeping conversations going as well as drawing some owners out of their shells and into joining in.

So I will get the ball rolling...

This week we (or Nick the apprentice I should say) has spent much of the week under a 356 removing flaking under-seal and rust, all in preparation for some serious welding in the week ahead.

Funnily enough, no soon had he finished (much to his relief) his face turned from happy to sad in a thousandths of a second.. the reason? a 924 failed the MOT on welding to the sills!

So looks like next week I will be welding a 356 and a 924... What has anyone else been upto with their earlier Porsche?

Took mine for an MOT. One advisory, endfloat on the steering shaft, which I suspected and which I think I can adjust out.
New certificate shows an historic mileage record which I think is a good idea.

Well done David, it's got to be satisfying to have an older Porsche fly through the MOT.

What model is she?

it's a 924. Greatly underrated car (in my opinion).

Spent 7 hours Meguiar'ing it for Valuation Photos (+ only washed since last 2 outings so needed a spruce up 8) )
No need to bother you Jon with a valuation this year, accordion to Peter James Insurance I can fill the form in & sign it myself.
I will ask your opinion when I bring it for 7th year Servicing/MOT/TLC (Belts due again!) in April/May if you can fit it into your moving schedule, when is it planned for BTW
Clive

The Guards red now looks like it should do, very satisfying.
This photos was a year or so ago just before replacing the Disco with the Volvo, and Keeping the 944 thank god.

Certainly is thanks, guess I've put it in the wrong Posting, it's not err really a "classic in the true sense" although it is to me.

Engine bay's a treat too 8) Been like it for last 7 years  I Can only take the credit for keeping it like that. Simon Peckham installed his superb new engine in Dec 2005 and the engine bay's been kept like it ever since.

Disappeared of out into the barn this weekend and did some much needed winter clean-ups,surprising how much grime and general crud gets stuck up under those wheel arches,so wheels off and a real scrape down and good clean back of any damaged underseal etc, hoover out any small stones etc caught down by the lift points near the sill ends, spray on new underseal and then a few coats of paint top coat and finish off with a few coats of laquer, job done, clean up backs of wheels and calipers and fit back, while on the cleaning theme, decided to give the engine and bay a really good clean up,tightened the fan belt, blow out the air filter and checked a few other bits and pieces, took off back wheels and cleaned up,then go around with wax oil spray over vunerable areas, didn't realise there could be so much to do,job done, small tip.....to keep those fan tubes looking clean give them a quick flick over with a spray can of silver...surprising how it cleans them up.
