This morning I checked my engine oil level before starting. It was at 3/4 level as it has been for the last month.
Anyway this morning I pulled out of a junction and had to accelerate hard to avoid a collision. My fault entirely. Hands up I made a mistake. Anyway I floored it in 1st (thank you psm for saving me).
Anyway while accelerating the check oil level warning message came up saying I had 3/4 oil level.
Why did this message come up. It disappeared when I cancelled the message off the display. No other messages have come up and after leaving the car for 45 mins I went out and checked the oil level again it's still at 3/4.
I realise as you accelerate the oil moves back in the sump but surely you shouldn't be able to trip a warning just by accelerating hard.. I am now wondering if the oil level gauge is functioning correctly.
