Ok quick question regarding changing the gearbox oil on a 2003 2.7 Boxster 5 speed manual.....MobilIube 1 SHC 75W90 ordered & I have a 17mm allen socket for the filler plug but the Bently manual lists my drain plug as requiring a 16mm triple-square anti-tamper socket or Hazet Tool 2567-16 (link below) is this correct & where do I get one from as a quick look seems they are readily available in America but non listed in the UK!? If its going to cost me £25-£30 for a socket I am going to use once then I may as well get local garage to do it. Oh & what size are the washers for drain & filler plugs? Any help appriciated.

Thought I would update this with exactly what was used seeing as no one could answer my original post. Regarding the socket I was asking about for the drain plug its a M16 splined socket so around a fiver (for some reason both the drain & filler were splined type as opposed to the listed 17mm hex listed in the manual for the filler). Oil wise I went for Mobillube 1 SHC 75W 90 & used 2.5 litres (listed quantity is 2.25 but I did spill a bit so that would explain the extra) which is what the main dealers use. To get the oil back in I used a Clarke CG500 oil suction gun. Most of the couple of hours it took me to do the job were spent removing all the chassis braces & sheilds that are in the way with draining/filling the gearbox taking around 20 mins (I did leave it draining whilst I had lunch to get as much as possible out). There is a noticable improvement to gear change too now & no its of metal/debris found in old oil either as a bonus. Pic of everything used below if it helps anyone...

Excellent info Chris as it's a job I plan on doing when the weather improves next year.
Did you take it for a warm up drive before you dropped the oil?

Yes I went out & did around 15 miles & made sure I used the gears plenty. By the time you have it up on stands etc to get underneath then spend 45 mins or so removing sheilds, diaganol chassis braces (1 each side with 7 bolts) & gearbox metal sheild everything is cooling off. Don't forget to undo the filler plug first just in case its seized. The oil gun I used is worth its weight in gold for getting the oil back in. I used a bent over cable tie as a dipstick to get the levels right (11mm from filler plug on a 5 speed & 6 speed fill till fluid runs out).
