My 2006 Cayman S has had a noise from the interior rear passenger side for a while now and seems to be getting worse! Spaying wd40 in every possible place hasn't worked. I've removed the boot gas struts and it's not those causing it, I've taken the boot cover off as this does rattle.
Today I removed the rear engine cover carpet and suspension area cover but still can't work out where the noise is coming from. It seems to happen most of the time on uneven road surfaces, could it be the top of the suspension bit? ( it's more of a squeak than a rattling noise) Other than turn the stereo up I can't find another answer! I was wondering if anyone else had experienced a similar problem and has a solution. It's driving me up the wall.

Many thanks Steve

It could be top mounts, they squeak. Go up a low kerb slowly and you will hear it as the wheel goes over.

Thanks Sean, what's the answer? Take it to Tonbridge for a look?

Try the kerb test, it will be obvious if it's the top mounts.

Finding squeaks and rattles is a bloody nightmare, technicians have the same challenge. It can't hurt to give them a call, did you go to the open day last Saturday?

No didn't go to the open day as I was busy, but wish I had now! Thanks for the advise, guess I will give them a call in the week. Cheers
