These are what I have on the Panamera, Pirelli Sottozero winter:

We use these all year round on the Subaru Legacy, Pirelli P Zero Nero M&S, very good:

Will check them out. I heard though that you're supposed to have narrower / smaller wheels as well? - from what I can tell winters in my size are hard to find.

I did get narrower and smaller wheels for the Panamera but the Subaru has sensible narrow wheels anyway so just used the originals. With that and AWD decided on M&S rather than full winter for that car which work well as I can leave them on all year round.

I have Michelin pilot sport n3 on the 944 and they are great. I have Goodyear eagle f1 asymmetric 2's on the 335i touring and they are also very good and came highly rated in some tests over the past couple of years. I would have put them on the 944 but could not get the right sizes at the time. They are quite good value too.

I have Michelin Pilot Supersports on all four corners of my Boxster. All N4 rated. Great in the dry or wet. I get a good deal at my local tyre shop in Hazelmere - http://www.merityre.co.uk/branch/car-tyres-mot/hazlemere

Nice guys, good service and good prices.
