Ooh, terrific - especially as I think I've an exhaust related problem, boohoo. I'm in no hurry Jonny boy.

A little bird told me you might be moving over to the "other side" with a fondness for the last air cooled Porsche model... You would not be disappointed!

It's a possibility yeah, if one comes up that I can afford (and you approve of), I'd be sorely tempted. The one I've fallen for though ain't even up for sale yet (is it?) - it's a stunning car but then mine's brilliant now too (finally). Trouble is I bore easily.

In all honesty Wayne I don't think an older car is going to suit you, no matter how reliable they are said to be.

Don't take this the wrong way but you're not really mechanically minded and car faults or perception of something amiss cause you stress. These things take looking after with small jobs being kept on top of all the time.

I know you've not had the best of luck with your modern one but I'd certainly stick with it for three time being and enjoy.

Totally get that Paul - and that's the dilemma. I take exception tho to your suggestion that I'm not mechanically minded - you're forgetting that I successfully changed a rear light bulb last week!!! . If I did, Jon would have to look after it for me for sure. Seriously, thanks for the sound advice mate. Very best wishes!!!!!!!!

I can certainly see where Paul is coming from, where usually I would offer the same advice as he has, however I think I know why this particular car will be a better car for you.

I would certainly approve of this particular car, I think it might be available right away, I know Mark mentioned to him you might be interested, but I am not sure if he has given your number to the seller, or if he is due to give his number to you, but the owner is serious as he wants to get something a bit more historic/classic, maybe a 70's or 80's 911.. Call Mark and ask him what the plan is.

Thanks Jon. So why WOULD this car be better for me? I've been in contact with Steve the owner but even he's not convinced he wants to sell anyway lol (I understand why). Thanks

I had the carnewal exhaust installed on my cayman, I was worried before that it would be too much noise but after reading loads of reviews etc I decided to just go for it, and I am so pleased I did. The car sounds like a serious machine now I love it. There is a sound increase in the cabin but this really isn't much of an increase at all, it no longer has that drone that it used to. Gert is amazing and he is really nice he puts you up in his waiting area with tv drinks and snacks the whole service took about 2 hours. There was a speedster sitting in his garage which he let me have a look round too. I would 100% recommend doing it. In the tunnel before you get off I would suggest a cheeky rev of the engine just to hear it boom down the train.

Wow, sounds great - might do it to my Boxster when the Cayman's sold. Mind revealing the price?
Cheers

Hello mate, here is the link to the exhaust

http://www.carnewal.com/products/P87/p8 ... GT-Exhaust

I also had the sports exhaust tip as my cayman is a base model with the standard single rectangular tip. The whole thing came to around £700 (I think I can't fully remember now it was last summer I had it done). If you have any questions I would recommend emailing Gert, I found him really good at answering all mine.

In a roof down boxster it will be awesome.

Noticed you're in Surrey - wouldn't mind popping over to hear it! (?)

Yeah for sure, I have to first sort out a problem I'm having with the electrics, which I am hoping is just a simple battery replacement and nothing more.

You should both come up to the Geo day and kill two birds
