For those who were interested it looks like we've worked around the legal route (just) having agreed (reluctantly) to share the cost of an engine rebuild / fix. Yep, it's gonna cost us a few quid but when we came close to handing back our Cayman we realised that losing the car wasn't what we wanted. We'll come out of it with a dent in our pocket but with a car that'll be better and more future proof than before as JMG will be doing the work and taking her on their maintenance plan (we hope). The legal route ain't entirely ruled out should it not work out but we don't anticipate needing it.

We look forward to having her back on the road with a full compliment of frunk capacity (ie. no 5ltr oil can in there!!!)

Cheers to all those who chipped in!

Glad you've reached an agreement, the legal route has only one winner sadly.

Feel for you having a bill like that.

Right, she's at JMG's new place. I look forward, in 3-5 weeks time, to letting her loose on some oh so very long roads (just need to start saving up!)

Hi Wazzer
For some reason I haven't received any forum updates? same happened a few weeks ago but I thought it had been resolved.
Anyway, its good to hear there's now a light at the end of the tunnel and the Cayman will be back to its former glory in a few weeks time.
I'm sure JMG will do a fantastic job and the nightmare of the last few months will be a distant memory!...................the good weather is on its way! :D
Good luck and keep us posted.

John

John I removed the post as things were getting a bit dirty. Yeah, just a few weeks to go - though a few quid down :(
