Forgot to mention that the Boxster sailed through her MoT yesterday afternoon so that's four MoT's in as many months! Think the 944 Cab may need a bit more effort before she gets her wings again

Changed all 6 coil packs. Quite a satisfying job. The hardest part is working out which extension(s) to use. Note that you don't have to remove any of the pipes that are in the way, which makes life a lot easier. Just the rear wheel, a few covers, the cable into the top of the coil pack itself, a single bolt (each), pull the old one out. Simple.

Less than £250 from OPC with the TIPEC discount, so original parts too. Actually cheaper than Design911.

Happy to give more details if anyone's about to do theirs.

Yes, OPC can amaze you with what they can do!

Mine was a did affair tonight as my dilemma with power to the dvr is all sorted with a direct plug into the fuse board. Bottom row is switched live and rows 2, 3 and 4 are permanent live. There are live feeds in a number of slots ready for additional accessories such as dvr's. Job done :D

I've also debadged the rear... Much better and far easier to clean :D

Spent the day detailing my own car, which makes a change from doing other peoples :-)

Lovely sunny day, so took the opportunity to fix an irritating issue with the hood, where the edge of the hood tries to fold itself outside the frame over the drivers door. Surprisingly low tech bit of chord with a plastic end that fits into an equally low tech notch in a plastic part. Bit of a fiddle but managed it, not how long it will last, since something made it jump out in the first instance. Then took some time to hoover out the debris in the roof pit, make sure the drain holes were clear and give to seals some feed to keep them supple. All in all a useful afternoon.

Glad you got that sorted David - it's on my "to do" list :)

In the meantime, I stumbled across OPC Tewkesbury this evening and had to drive in for a photo :D

Hi all,

My 2004 Boxster S had a service and inspection at JMG Porsche today.

I now need to arrange JMG Porsche to replace the clutch and I'll bite the bullet and get the ims
bearing changed at the same time. Ouch!!!

Hi All,

My Boxster is at JMG Porsche having a new clutch, ims bearing upgrade and replacement rms seal.

There are another couple of jobs to sort out at a later date;
Sunroof tension cables.
Fan ballast resistor

Hopefully collect the car tomorrow.

I had a geo check at Centre Gravity last weekend and have issues with both front toe, rear toe and the coffin arms were in need of replacement(I already knew about those) oh and rear tyres on the wear limits (i knew about those too)

My rear tyres are being replaced tomorrow, Continental have stopped making N rated in 255/40 17, so i'm fitting Mich PS2 (my preference of tyre anyway) that leaves the car with Conti on the front until they wear out.

Rear coffin arms arrived today from FrazerPart, they will be fitted on Monday and a full Geo set up performed,
£144 for the pair, not too bad. However to make sure the adjustments can be done now and in future, i've ordered a full set of fixings for rear set up, £67  and that's after £10 discount form OPC mid Sussex, still far cheaper the other suppliers.

Shame I'll be selling it in the spring :(

Hi,

Gave the car a drive followed by a clean.

Ordered a set of Zunsport grills.
