Hiya all, firstly my 986 passed her M.O.T today which I'm sure you'll all agree always puts a smile on your face as you drive away :D although it passed I did mention before he started that I think it had a warped disc as it has been juddering under breaking. It turned out that both the front discs were slightly warped. The question I have is do I get the 2 discs and pads for the £120.00 he quoted me or does anyone know if it's possible to put used Boxster S discs and calipers on all four corners of the 986? Thanks.
Andy Bruce.

If you are able to do this you will need to ascertain whether the offset of the wheels have changed and rectify accordingly.

£120 does seem a very reasonable price for replacement discs + pads + labour for a 968!!!
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hiya Bob, £120 was just for the parts and didn't include the fitting as I was going to fit them myself and it was for a 986 (Boxster) not a 968. I have got to know the garage owner over a number of years and he was offering me the parts at the price he would get them for.

You could fit the Boxster S brakes but you will need adapters plates to mount the calipers too also you might have an issue with clearance on your original wheels if they are 17" or smaller

Warped disks, very unusual.

What more than often happens is that the inner disk surface delaminates due to corrosion.

If the disks truely are just warped, it may be worth having them resurfaced on the car. Most good porsche specialists will have the equipment to do this to a higher degree of accuracy than even a new disk. Then you will just need new pads ideally.
