just picked up 2000 Boxster S today :-) was very nice to be driving a boxster again.

1. The car has been sitting not used for a few months and key fobs not working, one appears to have a flat battery as the led does not flash but the other one does flash when pressed but not opening the car. I thought maybe just sleep mode but even after opening door with key and driving home still not working

2. A sort of clucky noise at low speed that seems to be coming from steering column.

any opinions ???

apart from that had a very nice topless 3 hour drive home :-)

That drive should eradicate the memories of the MB SLK eh.
1) Might be worth a phone call/trip to your local (friendly?) OPC for a set of new batteries, they might be able to assist if these do not rectify the problem. (may need reprogramming?)

BTW Ewan,
Do keep looking at the adverts you may see something that takes your fancy on PH (hint hint!)

Changed the batts and tried all the tricks I found on line with no luck so looking like I need to get the keys reprogrammed.

Managed to get a better look at the noise and looking like a I got a broken front spring so will need to get that done.

I never really took to the SLK and while it did feel a lot quicker than the Boxster, the Boxster is a far better all round car.

I had actually forgotten who nice a car the Boxster was to drive and I think the black really suits it so my plan of moving it on pretty quick is up for review.

What about the dog? You just going to get him flying goggles and let him sit in the passenger seat with his head above the windscreen? PM me if you want somewhere to do your spring for you? I've got a local garage, to me not you, but you could get it done if you were working up here one day.

BTW, pictures?

Thanks Lee

Got the springs done yesterday and put through MOT (the car came from Isle of Man and they dont need an MOT !!!!)

I think the hand brake is sticking on a bit sometimes  car was sitting for 3 months waiting on the gearbox being rebuilt so hopefully it will sort itself with use

Only need the remote on key sorted now and I will be happy

Car looks good. Black does suit it with those wheels, were they an option? Can't wait to see it. :D
