Hi all, my manual Boxster S has just developed an intermittent problem I've not come across before. When I put my foot down, the engine will progress up the rev range as normal until it hits about 3000, when it jumps rapidly higher for a couple of seconds or so and then drops back to normal. While it's jumping up through the revs, the car loses power - like the clutch is momentarily depressed while the throttle position is maintained.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

It could be the clutch slipping as the torque increases.

I would have to agree with Nick. I does sound like a slipping clutch. If you're getting a clutch change, is there any other upgrades that can be done to your engine? I don't know much about the engines, but I'm sure I've seen somewhere on this forum either Baz Heart or Jon Mitchel talk about upgrades while doing the clutch. I might be wrong though.

I found a post by Jon, I don't know if it is for your car? I'm not very clued up on Boxsters. Bottom of this page it mentions Boxster engines. Where in the country are you? Is Jon near you? Let us know how you get on.
