Went to view this today as my wife is interested in it. Looks really nice, but the interior doesn't give the feel the exterior promises. I pointed out to Stef that it has 19" wheels on it. Question - nothing else bothers me except the tyres..... is it really about £250 per corner for tyres?

Thank you.

Hi :)

19" tyres can cost up to £400 PER CORNER.... :(

Depending on make etc....

All the best Brett :)

We get a club discount from Black circles, but I've just ordered mine from here. If you know the sizes, try clicking on them and see what comes up.

BTW, A friend has forecast a global shortage of rubber and a large price increase this year? Is he pulling my leg?

I've had a 986 Boxster S and drove a 987 Boxster. Honestly, I wouldn't bother again. I used the phrase "it doesn't become fun, until you're well into licence losing territory". Yes, a testiment to technological advance but it's just *too* "capable" it's rather boring until you reach the limits of the car (which seem to be very high!)

In my opinion the 987 is a massive improvement on the 986 especially the interior. The Guards Red car looks nice, save for the wheels but thats all in personal opinion and I actually think the interior looks nice, whats wrong with it? Then again Porsche interiors aren't very exciting.

19" wheels are a little silly and yes the tyres are expensive!

Personally, I much prefer classic cars, you seem to beable to have much more fun in them.

I too prefer older cars. There's so much fun to be had putting £500 max into Ebay Classic cars and press search. Put £600 and it's even better.

I'm not a fan of Boxsters. It's each to his own and they're not for me. When we were driving to view it we were in Stef's 2007 MX5 2.0 Sport. I questioned the advantage of a Boxster over an MX5 in everyday use...... I'll start a new thread on the subject as the responses will be interesting.
